This project
is a new Middle School Building that will be the first of four buildings
to form a new campus quadrangle. This building is modeled after the
historic “Davenport House” in downtown Savannah. The new middle school
building is a two-story steel-framed structure with brick veneer. It
contains six chimneys and intricate brick detailing to match the
Davenport House. The interior of the building contains classrooms and
science laboratories, as well as administration space for the Middle
School. Attached to the new middle school is a covered walkway that is
made entirely of brick arches to connect the building to the existing
campus. The building will be the focal point for the entire campus, and
the model for the overall atmosphere for new master plan.
